McADAMS, William , (d.) was b. Londonderry, Ire., 1802, and came to Minto in 1863, where he purchased lot 13A., 125 acres upon which he lived until his death in 1867, age 65 years. He m. Mary J. Johnston, who is living at this writing, age 95. They had the following issue: Margaret J. William , Robert, Daniel, Arthur and Isabella.

The late William McAdams started in life without capital; cleared his farm, and by his own exertions became a prosperous and influential citizen, having the respect and confidence of his neighbors and the community at large, He and his family were members of the Church of England, and in politics he was a Conservative, His son Arthur runs the old homestead farm on the same lines as his respected father, and is one of the substantial farmers of Minto. He m. Miss Sarah Regan, who was b. in Co. Kilkenny, Ire.
