He is a fine man, a good type of Scotchman, of strict integrity and very patriotic. He owns a fine heirloom in the shape of a real Highland dirk, with beautifully carved black oak handle, brass hilt and Highland sheath, which was used by his ancestor at the famous battle of Culloden, immortalized in Scott's poem, "Lochiel's Warning." For this dirk Mr. Masson has received overtures from curators of historical museums, and collectors of antiquarian relics, and could receive a high figure for it, but money will not induce him to part with it.
