MARTIN, Benjamin B. (d.). Martin, Benjamin B., late of Peel, was b. in Waterloo Co., in 1836, and d. in 1898, at the age of 62. He came to Peel Township in 1862, and purchased from John Little, a colored man, 120 acres of lots 19 and 20, con. 1, which he improved to a high state of fertility. He was a prosperous man, and highly respected. His religion was of the Mennonite faith. He was a Liberal, and took a great interest in politics, but never sought office. He m. Elizabeth Weber, who is living at the age of 63. Issue: Elias W. is the only one living.

Elias W. Martin was b. on the homestead in 1870, and succeeded to it upon his father's death, and afterwards purchased an additional 100 acres on lot 19, con. 1. He carries on mixed farming and feeds cattle for export. He is a successful man, and is increasing his belongings. He is a Mennonite, and a Liberal. He m. Barbara Brubacher, of Waterloo County. Issue: Nathan, Rebecca, Aaron, Elizabeth, Jessie and Israel. All at home.
