MALTBY, William (d.), b. Yorkshire, Eng., 1830; d.. 1904 at 74 years of age. He came to Canada about 1855 and settled in Albion Tp., Peel Co., and later farmed in Vaughan. Esquesing and Chinguacousy Townships. In 1889 he came to Puslinch Tp. and purchased 100 acres, rear lot 16, con VII. He retired in 1899, and d. 1904. He was a strong church worker being Sunday School Superintendent for years in the Methodist church in Peel Co. In politics he was an Independent Liberal. He m. Mary Brown. Issue: Thomas, owns and operates the old homestead; Mrs. James Boucher, Puslinch Tp.; Richard, in Chinguacousy Tp.; Mrs. Geo. Cunningham, Peel Co.; Isaac in Erin Tp.; Garbutt, William, Peel Co.; Albert Peel Co.; Ward (d. 11), and David, rear lot 12, con VII., Puslinch.

Charles Garbutt farmed for seven years in Caledon and Chinguacousy Tp., and came to Puslinch Tp. in 1891. He owns 100 acres, rear lot 11, con. VII., and is engaged in mixed farming. Mr. Maltby would not hold office. He is a Methodist, and a Liberal. He m. Ann Cunningham. Issue: Mary E. and Anna V.
