MALLETT, William , b. Waterloo Co. 1841. He started in life for himself on a rented farm in Waterloo Co, and made some money with which he bought a farm, improved it, and afterwards sold it. In 1876 he purchased 237 acres, got 25, con. 11, Arthur. He worked 27 years to pay for it. And then gave it to his son James, and bought 100 acres Wallace Tp., where he now lives. Mr. Mallett has been a very hard worker, and has made all of his property himself . The Arthur farm is now valued at $14,000 and the Perth property at $6,000. He has been in the Council, is a Deacon in the Baptist church, and a Conservative in politics. In 1870 he m. Elizabeth Lockhart. Issue: James, Fred, in Perth Co. with his father; Mrs. W. E. Thompson, Oxford Co.; Mrs. McGill, Southampton, and Josephine at home.

James b. 1871, lives upon and owns the Arthur property of 237 acres. He has bred Holstein cattle for the past fifteen years, and is one of the most successful young men in the county. He is much respected, a Baptist and a Conservative. In 1903 he m. Ethel Nicholson, Minto Tp. Issue: Clayton L.
