LOUGHRAN, John , was b. Co. Tyrone, Ire., in 1836. He came to Canada in 1846, at about ten years of age, and worked in Simcoe Co., for some years. Having heard of Queen's Bush, in 1856 he went to Wallace Tp., and purchased 200 acres for $293 and cleared it. Later he purchased 200 acres, lot 1, con. 2, Maryborough, where he now lives. He is an active worker in the Methodist church, of which he is Trustee, and is a Conservative in politics. Mr. Loughran has acquired all of his property valued at $5,000.00, by his own efforts, and has given all of the members of his family a good start in life. In 1865 he m. Emma Travers. Issue: William C., lot 6, con. 4, Maryborougoh,; Daniel E., Wallace Tp. John Wesley, unm. who operates the farm where his father lives. Annie I. at home and Robert W., lot 6, con. 5, Maryborough Tp.
