LANGDON, Adam
, b. Somerset, Eng., 1839. He came to Canada in 1862 and set. in
Arthur, where
he and his wife worked for farmers for some years, getting $7 for himself,
and $3 for her labor. He rented a small farm, and when he had saved a little
money purchased 50 acres, which was partially cleared. Afterwards he sold his
farm and purchased 40 acres in Arthur, adjoining Petherton, which is paid in
full. In religion he is a Baptist, and in politics a Liberal. In 1861 he m.
