JOHNSTON, John . Johnston, John, b. Kirkcudbrightshire, Scot., 1813. He came to Canada in 1846, and is living at the age of 92. He is a Presbyterian, and has been one of the Managers of Knox Church, Glenallan. In political views he is a Liberal. He m. Martha Rogers, who is living age 81. Issue: William, John, George, Joseph, Thomas, Andrew and Mrs. Wm. Pennington. William m. Mary A. Keith and set. in Man. John m. Annie Gibbings, set. in Man. George m. Miss McKinnon, set. in Bruce Co. Joseph, b. in Simcoe Co., 1854, purchased his present farm of 150 acres, lot 7, con. 3, in 1901, after living for some years in the North-West, where he was engaged in breeding prize cattle, and acquired considerable means. He is now engaged in mixed farming, and is a prosperous and much respected citizen. He is an Elder of Glenallan Presbyterian church, and has been Trustee of Glenallan school for some years. In politics he is a Liberal. He m. Elizabeth McMillan. Issue: William, Myrtle, Lillie and Harvey.
