HUTCHINSON, Alfred, b. Yorkshire, Eng., 1860. He came to Canada in 1883, and set., on a farm at Long Lake, near Regina , where he stayed four years. He then went to Yorktown, N. W. T., and ran a ranch for 14 years. In 1901, wishing to give his family a better educational privilege than could be obtained in the North-West , he sold his ranch, and came to Arthur, where he purchased 153 acres of land, lot 1, con. 12. This beautiful home is situated just outside the limits of the town of Mount Forest. He carries on mixed farming , with some dairying, and feeds everything he raises in the shape of grain.

Mr. Hutchinson is a man of excellent education. He was Commissioner, Justice of the Peace, and Chairman of the School Board, in his former home in the North-West. He is a Methodist and an Independent in politics. In 1884 he m. Hattie Allan. Issue: Bertha, Allan, Eric and Constance.
