HODGKINSON, William , b. Lancashire, Eng., 1826, where he was raised and educated. In 1841 he came to Canada, and in 1850, set. in Eramosa, where he purchased lot 10, con. 4, 150 acres, and has since resided. He m. Lydia Parkinson in 1850. She was b. on the old Parkinson homestead in 1836. Mr. Hodgkinson has been a very active man, and his success in life has been due to his energy and progressiveness. He was a school teacher in Eramosa, a local preacher in the Methodist church for some years, and has become Tax Collector of the township. As a citizen, he is held in high esteem. Of his twelve children, only four reside in Wellington Co., vis: Mrs. David Scarrow, Rockwood; Sarah, and Justus, at home, and Edward in Eramosa.

Justus, b. 1876, m. Eveline Ritcheie. He carries on the homestead farm, He has travelled considerably, and is well posted in the current affairs of the day. Issue: Francis Earl.
