HENDERSON, Magnus . Henderson, Magnus, b. Caithness-shire, Scot., 1832. He came to Canada in 1857, settling first in York County, and in 1859 came to Peel, residing upon the farm of 100 acres, lot 7, con. 2, until he retired from farming, some years ago, and removed to Glenallan, where he now resides. Mr. Henderson brought very little money with him to Canada, but has been very prosperous, and although not one of the very early settlers, has seen wonderful developments. He is, for his age a very vigorous man, and a is intelligent, well read and liked by everybody. He has been an Elder in Knox Church, Glenallan, for forty-one years, Assessor of the township for one year, and Township Clerk since 1882. In political views he is a Liberal. He m. Christina Sutherland, who d. in 1904, age 73. Issue: Rev. James S., m. Margaret Grant, and is pastor of St. Andrew's Church, New Westminster, B. C.; Robert, a contractor in B. C.; Thomas, m. Miss Comstock, and is a merchant in Mich.; Rev. Magnus, m. Miss McKay, and is pastor of a Presbyterian church in Yorkton, N.-W.T.; Mrs. James Robertson, in Drayton; Mrs. George Kitley, in Peel; Wilhelmina, and Mary Jane, school teachers in Windsor.
