HAYDEN, REV. T. J . Father Hayden is the oldest son of James Hayden and Catharine Ferguson. His father came from Ire. to Simcoe Tp., in 1831. Father Hayden was b. near Alliston in Simcoe Co. and attended the public schools of Simcoe Tp. He was then at St. Michael's College for four years, and for four years at Assumption College, Sandwich. From 1883 to 1886 he was in Plymouth, Eng., establishing the College of Mary Immaculate, after which he was teacher in Assumption College for five or six years. In 1886 he was ordained at Sandwich, by the late Archbishop Walsh. He was then in Toronto for some time on account of poor health, after which he was second in authority in St. Michael's College under Father Tiefy, and for one year Director of Studies at Sandwich. After an interval of three years, on account of poor health, he spent one year in Scholactiche teaching post graduate work. In 1903 he became pastor of St. Martin's in Drayton, and also has charge of the church on the 12th line, Peel, and at Palmerston.
