HAMMOND, William , was b. in Ire. and d. in 1887, age 83. He came to Wellesley Tp., in 1846, and purchased 200 acres, which he cleared and lived upon until his death. He was a hard worker, and was a Presbyterian, and a Liberal. He m. Sarah Kelly. Issue: Edward (d. 1905, Maryborough); Thomas, Linwood; Mrs. John Thompson, Shakespeare; John, Wellesley, Mrs. John Freeborn (d.); James, Wellesley; William R., Joseph (d.); Mrs. Wm. McCormick (d.); Mrs. Alexander McFaddin, Wellesley, and Alexander, on the homestead.

William R., b. in Wellesley Tp., in 1847, came to Maryborough in 1877. He purchased 100 acres, the east half of lot 11, con. 4, where he carries on mixed farming. He m. Elizabeth Freeborn, who d. Feb., 1905. Issue: Clara M., Edward, and Norris.
