FORREST, James J . (d.), was b. Roxburghshire, Scot., 1826, d. 1893. He was raised and educated in Scot., and when nineteen years of age emigrated to the U.S., settling in Delaware Co., N.Y. There he spent eleven years, when he came to Guelph Tp., purchasing and settling on his farm in the "Paisley Block". He m. Agnes Hamilton, dau. of the late James Hamilton, and they had the following issue: James, Ellen (d. young), Robert (d. young), Margaret, Mary, Elizabeth (d. young), Agnes (d. young), Mrs. John McGregor, Robert J., William, Thomas, Walter B.(d.) and Elizabeth.

James, m. and set. in Michigan. Issue: James, Loyal, Royal and Opal.

William and Thomas operate the home farm left by their respected father.

The late Jas. J. Forrest commenced life without money, and by industry and good management accumulated a fine property, leaving 133 acres in the "Paisley Block" at his death. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church and a first-class citizen.
