FERGUSON, George (d.), late of Nichol, was b. in Aberdeen shire, Scot., in 1818, and d. in 1888, at the age of 70. He came to Canada in 1870, and set. at Hespeler. In 1872 he came to Nichol, chased 80 acres on lots 11 and 12, con. 11. He was a member of the English church, and a Conservative in politics. He was a man of retiring disposition, and never sought office. He m. Ann Milne, who is living at tile age of 83. Issue: James and Alexander. James was in Scot., and came to Canada a year later than his father, in 1871. He lived on the homestead until his father's death, when he came into possession of the farm. He follows mixed farming, and feeds a number of cattle for export. He has made a specialty of Clydesdale horses and thoroughbred cattle, and has exhibited them at fairs, with success. Mr Ferguson belongs to the English church, and is a Conservative; a good citizen, and up-to-date farmer. He is unm.
