EWING, Alexander (d.) The late Alexander Ewing, of Pilkington, was b. in Ire. in 1828 and d. in 1898. He came to Canada, landing in Montreal, and settled first in Hamilton, and later in Pilkington, on lots 10 and 11, con. 1. He helped to survey the township for Col. Pilkington. He was a Presbyterian and a Conservative. He m. Mary Manarey, who d. in 1904, at the age of 67. Issue: William, on lot 15, con. 2, Pilkington, with his brother; John A., on lot 15, con. 2, where, with his brother he carries on mixed farming, and feeds a great deal of stock for export. He is a progressive and up-to-date farmer, as his father before him. He is a Presbyterian, and a Conservative. Mrs. Samuel Spiers set. in Nichol; Albert is in Edmonton; Lena, Edward, and Samuel are on the old homestead; Robert is a contracts in Washington.
