DOW, Thomas (d.), was b. in Aberdeenshire, Scot., d. aged 86. He came to Canada in 1833, and set. in Nichol, on lot 11, con. 10, where he purchased 100 acres. He was a Presbyterian, and a Liberal. He m. Jane Dow. Issue: James, William, Thomas, Peter, Mrs. John McDonald, and Mrs. Geo. Sutherland.

William, b. Scot., 1822, came to Canada with his father. He was brought up on the old homestead, was a successful farmer, and is now retired in Fergus. He m. Mary Wilson. Issue: Thomas Jr., Mrs. John Mutrie, d; Robert, Jane, Dr. William, and Dr. James. Thomas, son of William F. was b. on the old homestead, in Nichol. He owns 214 acres, and carries on mixed farming. He was Reeve from 1901 to 1905, Councillor, and County Commissioner, 1905. He is a leading man in the community. He m. Amy Watson. Issue: William C., Robert, May, Amy H., Henry J., and Watson. Robert is on the old homestead. He has been Collector of Nichol for twenty-three years, and was appointed Licence Commissioner, in 1904. He m. Annie Forsythe. Issue: Laura J., and Robina M. Dr. William, unm., is a graduate of the Medical Branch in Toronto University and after practising in Colorado, he set. in Regina. Dr. James is a graduate of the Medical Branch of Toronto University, and is a practicing physician in Belwood. He m. Miss Kate Armstrong, dau. of the late John Wilson Armstrong. Issue: Mary R., William W., Lena M., and John A.
