CURRIE, Malcolm
, (d.) in Argyleshire, Scot., in Aygyleshire in 1800; d. age 77. He came to
Canada in 1837, and lived in New York Co. for five years, then came to
Puslinch and purchased Lot 34, rear, in the Gore. There was not a tree cut
upon it when he came, and he cleared the farm and lived there until his death.
He was a very industrious man; a Presbyterian and a Liberal. He m. Mary
Blair in Scotland. Issue: Archibald, Rev. Neil, in Cape Breton; Mary, Hector,
an ex-school teacher and a Justice of the Peace in Aberdeen, South Dakota; he
writes deeds, mortgages, etc., and has a farm two miles out of Aberdeen, which
is leased; Rev. Donald Keady, Grey Co.; Elizabeth (d.), Rev. John in Belmont,
and Charles.
Archibald, unm., runs the homestead. He is a Presbyterian and a Liberal. Charles, b. in Puslinch, purchased Lot 30 and part of 31, front Conc. 8. He is a breeder of Tamworth and Yorkshire swine, and makes a specialty of Shorthorn cattle, mostly for breeding. He is a Presbyterian, and an Independent in politics. Mary resides with him.
