CRAIG, James , b. Co. Sligo, Ire., 1828. He came to Canada in 1850 with his parents, and worked for farmers in Dufferin Co. for some years. Mr. Craig, with his father, had a farm in Dufferin Co., which they sold in 1857, and came to Arthur Tp., where they purchased 500 acres, giving each of the children farms.

James received the present homestead, 100 acres, lot 19, con. 11, where he has since lived. His sons are now all settled around him on good farms. He is a member of the English church, and a Conservative, and has been Postmaster at Wagram for the past thirty years. In 1857 he m. Margaret Shaw. Issue: Mrs. L. Morrison, Mich.; John, in Arthur; Mrs. William Robertson, Sault Ste. Marie; Elizabeth, and Matthew J., at home.

John lives upon and owns lot 18, con. 10, Arthur, where he carries on mixed farming, and operates a sawmill. He is a member of the English church, and a Conservative. He m. Jane Brown, of Arthur Tp. Issue: William, Jessie M., Robert, John and Charles.
