CONNOLLY, John (d.) was b. in Galway Co., Ire., in 1817, and d. in 1904, age 87. Before coming to Canada, Mr. Connolly resided three years in Scot., where he was in the service of the Duke of Argyle. He came to Canada about 1851, and after working for others for eight years he purchased 100 acres, lot 18, con. 12, Minto. Mr. Connolly was much respected in the community, and by his industry acquired a comfortable home. For some thirty years, until from the infirmities of age he was no longer able to attend to the duties of the position, he held the office of Path Master. He was a Catholic and a staunch Liberal. He m. Margaret Coyne, in Ire., who d. in 1898, age 74. Issue: Anthony (d.) ; Mary m. Arch. Gillespy and set. in Minto; and John set. in New Ontario, all b. in Ireland; William, b. in Scot., set. in, Mich; and Thomas set. in Missouri; Michael in Harriston; Martin in Bay City, Mich.; May on the homestead and Bridget, m. Chas. Addison, and set. in Franklin, Ind., were b. in Canada.
