CONNELLY, Edward (d.). The late Edward Connelly was b. in Ire. and came to Canada about 1834, settling first in Simcoe County and afterwards in Brant. He was a Roman Catholic, and a Conservative. He d. at the age of 78. He m. Susan Kilpatrick, who d. in 1885, at the age of 90.

Edward, son of the above, was b. in Ire. and came to Canada with his father at the age of six. He set. in Peel about 1872 and purchased land. Mr. Connelly was a man of strong convictions, industrious and temperate habits, a kind father, and respected by all classes. He d. in 1905, at the age of 77, leaving a property of 250 acres. He m. Mary Lee, who was b. in the county of Halton, and d. in 1891 at the age of 52. Issue: Susan (d.), Mary, John E., Augustin, Edmund, and Mary. John E. owns the farm of 100 acres, on lot 16, con. 13. He is a practical farmer, and has fine stock. The Roman Catholic church of the Holy Name is partly on this farm, a fine building, the spire of which is a prominent and attractive object in the landscape seen from passing trains. Mr. Connelly is a Roman Catholic, and in politics a Conservative He m. Nellie Farrell. Issue: Leo E. and Cornelius J. Augustin, Edmund and Mary are on the homestead with their brother.
