CAMPBELL, Duncan (d.), was b. Isle Islay, Scot., 1813. He m. Margaret McTaggart, in Scot., and in 1864 they came to Canada, settling in Halton Co. In 1869 they came to Minto, where he purchased lot 27, con. 4, and lived there until his death in 1891. He was a member of the Pres. church and was much respected. Issue: Archibald, Mrs. George R. Wilkin, Mrs. Donald Smith (d). John D. and Maggie. Archibald and John D. owned the Minto farm and ran it in conjunction for some years, their sister Maggie keeping house for them. They made a specialty of Clydesdale horses and Short-horned cattle, producing some of the best in Minto. Archibald d. in 1904. He was a man of more than ordinary ability, and of strict integrity, having the confidence and good opinion of all who knew him. John D. now carries on the farm.
