CAMPBELL, Duncan (d.), b. Perthshire, Scot., 1766; d. age 82. He was a tailor by trade, and came to Puslinch Tp. in 1833. He was a Presbyterian and a Liberal. He m. Catharine Boyd. Issue: John, who remained in Scot.; Donald, Hugh and Peter stayed in Scot.; Mrs. Arch. Campbell, Acton, and Duncan.

Donald, b. 1802; d. 1869, came to Canada with his parents at 31 years of age. He had been a school teacher in Scot. He bought rear lot 20, con. 11, and cleared the farm. He was a Presbyterian and a Liberal, and would not hold office of any kind. He m. Janet Cameron, of Rossshire, Scotland. Issue: Catharine (d. 20) ; Hugh, Alexander, Duncan, Jr.; Roderick, John, Christina, Mrs. David Hume, Arkell; Mrs. Alex. Matthews (d.), Guelph; Mrs. Peter Scott, Teeswater; Mary (d.14); Mrs. David Hogg, Manitoba, and Donald.

Hugh was for years a carriage builder and undertaker at Morriston, and recently moved to Hamilton.

Alexander, b. 1843; d. 1892. He was for years Principal of the Arnnprior public school and died there. Duncan set. finally near Shelburne, and d. Mar. 2nd, 1906.

Roderick, set, Portage la Prairie, John set. St. Paul, Minn. Donald lived with the uncle Duncan on lot 21, rear con. 10, for about 15 years. At his uncle's death in 1892, he received his father's homestead, known as "Myrtle Hall," and in olden days as "The Block." He carries on mixed farming, keeping plenty of stock. He went to school at S.S. No. 10, to Peter McLaren. He is a Presbyterian and a Liberal. He m. Harriet Ann Laing. Issue: Myrtle E., Eric I., and Hattie V. and Mildred.

Duncan came to Puslinch at 17 years of age. He m. Mary Campbell, and bought lot 21, rear con. 10, and lots 19 & 21, con. 11, Puslinch and cleared the farms, where he kept store for some years. He was instrumental in securing the postoffice at Corwhin, which is situated on his old farm. He died in,1892, leaving no issue.
