CAMERON, Andrew
, late of Nichol, was b. in Inverness-shire, Scotland. He came to Canada in
1837, settling first in Halton, and in 1850, in Nichol, where he purchased a
farm from B. O'Connor, on lot 4, con. 5, upon which he lived until his death,
at the age of 78. Mr. Cameron arrived in Canada when the country was a
wilderness, and commenced the arduous task of hewing out a home. He was
strong and vigorous, and was very successful in his efforts. He was a good
citizen, respected by all, and never sought preferment. He was a
Presbyterian, and one of the managers of Chalmer's Church, in Eloxa. In
politics he was a Liberal. He m. Jane McDonald, who d. at the age of 45.

set. in Elora; Mrs. Edward Campion, set. in Goderich; Mrs. John McDonald, set.
in Fergus; Margaret, in Goderich, and Ann (d.).
John Cameron, succeeded his father on the homestead, where be owns 107 acres, and is engaged in mixed farming. He feeds 25 or 30 head of cattle each year for market, and uses, in that way, all of the grain grown on the place. He is a Presbyterian, and a Liberal. He m. Jane Davidson, of Nichol.
