BOLLS, William
(d.), was born Notttingham, Eng., and came to Eramosa about
1830, and purchased lot 30, conc. 2, 100 acres, where he lived until his
death. He is buried in the Mimosa Cemetery. He came to the country poor, but
became fairly well off, and his descendants compose some of the best citizens
in the locality where he settled, all being prosperous farmers.
Of his issue: John, b. Eng., 1819: d. Eramosa, 1873. He had the following issue: Robert (d.), Mrs. Sheville (d.), John, George, Mrs. Daniel Coon, William and Mrs. Robt. Rudd, Guelph City. William, b. Eng., 1812, d. Eramosa, 1880. He m. Sarah Smith. She d. 1903, age 78. He owned 100 acres, lot 30, con. 2, Eramosa and was a substantial farmer, and a man of strict integrity. He was a member of the Congregational church, and in politics he was a Conservative. Issue: William, Jr., Thomas, Mrs. James Alexander, George, John, Michael and Annie. Of this branch, all were b. on the old homestead. William, Jr. b. 1850. He started in life on his won account, and without capital, in 1873, when he purchased 100 acres, lot 30, con. 4, where he set., and later purchased 50 acres more. Today he is a well-to-do citizen. He m. first Christina Munroe, and after her death, Sarah Maddock. Issue: Thomas, Mrs. John Scott, Albert, Gilbert, Mabel (d.), Norman and Roy. George and John are unm. and own and live on the old homestead of their grandfather and father, their sister keeping house for them. They are prosperous farmers. Michael, m. Lizzie Breese. He owns and lives on the 100 acres, lot 32, con. 4. Issue: Ernest. Thomas, m. Julia Freure, and is also a large farmer in Eramosa, where he owns 200 acres, lot 19, con. 4.
