BLACK, William H. , was b. Peel Tp. in 1875. He came to Pike Lake in Minto Tp. in 1901, and started a summer resort. He has 41 acres adjoining the lake and 92 acres in the lake. He has greatly improved this property, and has just erected a fine white brick summer hotel which has accommodation for from thirty to forty guests, besides his cottages. In 1900 Mr. Black m. Mary White. He is a Methodist and a Liberal in politics.

Pike Lake is situated four miles from Mount Forest and six miles from Harriston. It covers about 92 acres and is very popular as a picnic resort for the surrounding country. It also contains black bass, the largest caught last year (1905) weighing 5 lbs. Mr. Black is a genial proprietor and keeps several fine boats for hire, also sighing tackle. During the summer Mr. Black will meet any train by appointment to convey guests to the lake. Pike Lake is a beautiful sheet of water surrounded by hills and woods, and is one of the most charming little resorts in the Province. Open for boarders from June 1st until the end of the season.
