ARMSTRONG, DR. James Mitchell, is a son of the late James Armstrong who was b. at Inniskillen, Ire., May 29, 1812, and came to Canada in 1831, set. in East Whitby. Dr. Armstrong was b. in East Whitby, Jan. 27, 1860, and is a graduate of the Collegiate Institute, St. Mary's. After completing his course there, he taught school for two and one-half years in Howick, and then attended the Normal School at Ottawa, after which he was again engaged in teaching for two years in Howick. He was then in the drug business, Queen Street East, in Toronto, for two years, after which he took his medical course at Toronto University, graduating therefrom in class of 1893. He then set. in Walton, where he practised his profession for ten years. Dr. Armstrong then went to London, Eng., and took a course of six months in the hospitals of that city; also a course in Dublin and in New York. In 1902 he came to Harriston, where he has continued the practice of his profession. In 1889 he m. Miss Alicia Cooper. Issue: Wilber T., Amy Helena, Balfour Cooper, and Marjorie S.
