MADAHBEE--In loving memory of Leona Madahbee, February 21, 1989.
We think of you, dear Mom,
And our hearts are filled with pain.
This world would be a heaven
Could we hear your voice again.
Years have swiftly passed,
But still we don't forget,
For in the hearts that loved you best,
Your memory lingers yet.
Lovingly remembered by your children and grandchildren.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 21, 2007

MADAHBEE--In memory of Mom, Leona Madahbee.
If I had all the world to give,
I'd give it, yes, and more,
To hear her voice and see her smile
And greet her at the door.
But all I can do, dear Mother,
Is go and tend your grave,
And leave behind tokens of love
To the best mother God ever made.
I like to think, when life is done,
Wherever Heaven may be,
That she'll be standing at the door
Up there to welcome me.
From her children and grandchildren.
Manitoulin Expositor, February 17, 2010

MADAHBEE- Cherished memories of a dear brother, Morris, who passed away June 17, 1976
Please God, forgive a silent tear,
A fervent wish our brother was here,
There are others, yes, we know
But he was ours, we loved him so.
Dear God, take a message
To our Morris in heaven above.
Tell him how much we miss him,
And give him all our love
Sadly missed by sister Linda and family.

Jim,
When you came into my life, I truly knew what real love was and I knew I would be with you as long as I lived.
Each tear I cry since you have been gone is a reminder of how we truly loved each other, and made a meaningful difference in each others lives, and that was a gift that no time or distance can ever take away.
Nothing will ever be the same again.
Miss you so!
Donna.
Manitoulin Expositor, March 14, 2012

MAGUIRE--In memory of our Dad, Jim, who passed away on March 18, 2011
They say there is a reason
They say that time will heal
But neither time nor reason
Will change the way we feel
For no one knows the heartache
That lies behind our smiles
No one knows how many times
We have broken down and cried
We want to tell you something
So there won't be any doubt
You're so wonderful to think of
But so hard to be without.
Love always, Linda, Lori and Leanne.
Manitoulin Expositor, March 14, 2012

MAGUIRE--This letter is written in memory of Jim Maguire, our Grandfather, who passed away on March 18, 2011.
Dear Gran,
Hi Gran. We really miss you. We would love to go fishing on Lake Manitou again and catch some green bass. We loved it when you drove fast and our hats flew off, you would always let us drive the boat and we drove in circles. You taught us how to fish and put our lines in but we would always reel them up cause we couldn't wait. We remember the times at the trailer when Noah caught a 5 lb bass and when we went fishing off the dock and a fish bit your toe! We still laugh about that! We loved the campfires that you made for us, we ate marshmallows and you had nice cold beer.
We remember bacon and eggs, turkey dinners, rides in the convertible, cutting the grass on the Husqvarna, tomatoes from the garden and 4-wheeler rides around the house. Denver Doo still looks for you at the garage and we really wanted to ride the snowmobile with you. A cup of tea always reminds us of you and we really miss you at our hockey games. You should see us play this year, Gran. Noah is skating awesome and Owen can shoot the puck high now.
Meema sure misses you Gran. We try to help her out as much as we can and we call her often. Things just aren't the same without you Grandfather but we know that you are watching over us with Papa too. We love you lots Gran and we miss you every day.
Love, Noah and Owen.

MALLEY, Robert Lane Jr.-- In loving memory of Robert Lane Malley Jr. who passed away on May 13, 1998.
I give you this one thought to keep.
I am with you still, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on the snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone,
I am still with you, in each new dawn.
Love, all of your relations.
Manitoulin Expositor, May 12, 2004

MALLEY, Robert--In loving memory of Robert Malley who passed away on May 13, 1998.

MALLEY--In loving memory of Robert L. Malley Jr., June 14, 1974 - May 13, 1998.
I'm writing this from heaven, where I dwell with God above.
Where there's no more tears or sadness, there's just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy because I am out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
And I will stay beside you, every day, week and year.
And when you're sad I'll still be there to wipe away your tears.
When you think of my life on earth and those living years
Because you're only human they're bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain
Remember there wouldn't be flowers unless we first had rain.
I wish I could tell you of all that God has planned
But even if I were able to, you wouldn't understand.
When you're going down the street and you've got me on your mind
I'm walking in your footsteps and only half a step behind.
And if you feel a gentle breeze or wind upon your face
Remember it's only me with a loving and soft embrace.
P.S. God sends His Love.
Manitoulin Expositor, May 17, 2006

MALLEY--In loving memory of Robert L. Malley Jr. who passed away May 13, 1998
It's been nine years since you've been gone,
It hasn't been very easy,
Especially when I hear your song,
I still often wonder, what happened that fateful night,
What were you thinking, did you know the end was in sight?
Did God come to you and say it was your time?
And there you stood at the pearly gates in line,
Looking down at us all in tears,
And you wanted to come and calm all our fears,
For now you're in a place so beautiful, so clean,
A place where God can be seen,
I never thought this would happen in a million years,
You come to me in my dreams at night,
And when I awake, there are always tears,
What would I do, if I could only hold you tight,
And to again hear your laughter, Until we meet again, in the life ever after.
We will love and miss you, forever in our hearts, your Mom, Son, Sisters, Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and Friends.
Manitoulin Expositor, May 23, 2007

MALLEY--In memory of Robert Lane Malley, June 14, 1974 - May 13, 1998.
There's a special garden
Where the trees of memory grow
Nurtured by the kindness
And concern that good friends show.
The roots are cherished memories
Of good times in the past
The branches tender promises
That souls endure and last.
It's a place of beauty
Where bright new hopes can start
It's memory's lovely garden
That soothes the hurting heart.
Manitoulin Expositor, May 14, 2008

MALLEY--Robert Lane Malley, June 14, 1974 - May 13, 1998.
Have you ever wondered what makes the wind blow?
Could it be our loved ones blowing us a kiss?
Have you ever wondered what makes the stars shine?
Is it our loved ones keep watch over us while we sleep?
Have you ever wondered what makes the skies cry?
Could it be our loved ones missing us?
Have you ever wondered what makes the sun shine?
Is it our loved ones giving us a warm hug?
Have you ever wondered what makes the ocean waves come pounding to shore?
Could it be our loved ones wanting to touch us once more?
There are so many of natures wonders, and do we really know why?
Is there a higher power making sure we always remember the loved one we lost, and shall never forget?
Love always, your family and friends.
Manitoulin Expositor, May 12, 2010

MALLEYIn loving memory of our precious brother, Robert Malley, June 14, 1976 - May 13, 1998.
Brother, I think about you all the time,
And wonderful memories you left behind
Your great intentions and precious heart,
And I know at the end of the day,
We are very close and not far apart
Brother, although we are separated through time
And space our souls will connect in another place,
You will be the one to guide me in,
And to comfort me in the end.
With your souls progression and
High level of spirituality,
Your goodness and kindness
Will be my reality.
Brother, I saw a vision
That was revealed to me
With Gods permission,
You were soaring with angels
And protected by the Almightys hand,
This opened up to me
In an unfamiliar land.
Brother, the spirit world
Is a glorious place,
And I see you filled with joy, love
Happiness and grace.
So brother, until we meet again
I will love you forever and
Always to the end.
Love from all of your family and friends.

MANITOWABI, Alec - January 19, 1980.
At this moment
Memories are still strong of what we shared
Eight children we both raised and cared
Memories of you my love, as if it was yesterday
So much to share and say, every night I pray
At this moment
I remember on this date, we both said I do
And on January 19, 1980, you passed away and I lost you
The hurt of missing your gentle touch
Is one of the treasures I miss so much
At this moment
I will always cherish of what we had
Were blessed with 23 grand and 2 great grandchildren
They enrich me with love and praise and Im glad
Through them, I see you in their hearts
At this moment
As I reminisce of all the love you gave
Im grateful to have had you as a husband and father
Every year, your daughters pick the flowers they gather
And proudly with love laid the bouquet upon your grave.
--Sadly missed by Victoria Manitowabi, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

MANITOWABI--In memory of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Alexander Manitowabi, who passed away 30 years ago on January 19, 1980.
Gone but never forgotten
It seemed like only yesterday that we were your little girls holding your hand and going to the barn to feed the farm animals, weeding the garden with you , bailing the hay, doing the maple sugar run or going on a horse drawn sleigh ride with Sadie and Duchess. We all miss the hugs and sweet kisses you gave us especially on the early morning of all our birthdays. You were the Protector of our family and also the strongest man that ever lived in our eyes. So on this day we will talk about you and feed you and go to church to light a candle and pray that we continue to remember all the many gifts that you shared with us as a father to stay together as a family. We love you dad/papa and miss you very much. Karen, Maureen, Cindy, Junie, Paulette, Claudette, Velma, Wilma. The Manitowabi Bear Clan in Wiky.

MANITOWABI--In memory of my darling granddaughter April, who passed away August 28, 2000.
Walking down the road waving away;
As if to say good-bye
She never realized, till now;
The heavy load of a Nana's aching heart when she
Hears her granddaughter has died.
The passing of such an innocent little one
Nothing compares to a Nana's
Undying love for her little dear
Her broken heart has just begun
The news of her grandchild's passing so severe
As each passing day with prayers go on
She accepts that her granddaughter has gone beyond
To be in the Lord's hands and with Loved Ones that have passed away
The Nana realized what the wave meant that day
April was trying to say
"Thank you" Nana for All the Love You Gave.
--With love from Nana Victoria Manitowabi and Warren.

MANITOWABI--In remembrance of April Renee, April 14, 1984-August 28, 2000.
A year ago we had to face the pain
Of saying farewell to our precious April Renee
Our niece, our cousin so full of life and laughter
Without her how can life ever be the same again.
God took her so quietly without us knowing
Toughest part was to accept that she was really gone
But our sweet memories of April kept us going
We knew she'd want us to have the strength to carry on.
At first it was hard to mention her name
Without a tear coming down our eyes
Christmas, birthdays and holidays were not the same
Without April's presence and her adorable smiles.
They say time will heal as a year goes by
Knowing April is in a better place in our heaven above
Eases that pain of letting go and we no longer cry
Our niece, our cousin will never be forgotten
Will always be in our prayers and will always have our undying love
She is the whisper in the wind
The sunshine in our hair
The twinkling of the stars up above
Our Angel safely watching over us
No more tears, I'm okay she softly whispers
Live life to the fullest and carry on my smiles.
--Forever in our hearts you'll always be our April Renee,
Love Auntie Cindy, Uncle Howard and cousins Tammy, Alyssa, Alaina, Tweet Tweets, Shaneece and Shyaya.

MANITOWABI--In loving memory of my beautiful daughter April, April 14, 1984 - August 28, 2000.
Like those we love, a candle burns bright,
Guiding and comforting us with its light.
Even after the candle has been extinguished,
We can feel the warmth of its flame
And remember how it flickered and danced with
The tiniest breath of air.
We can no longer see our loved one, but
The light she brought to our lives still
Burns brightly in our memories
And our hearts forever.
Love mom June, sisters Stephanie, Seneca Manitowabi, nieces Asia, Zahara and nephew Raine.

MANITOWABI--In loving memory of Charles Norman Manitowabi who departed to the spirit world on June 13, 2011.
Daddy
There is a wonderful legacy
We wish to share and tell
About a wonderful man
That we all loved so well.
His strength continues to live within us
And grows more stronger each day
His presence still lingers
Although his life has slipped away.
We miss the sound of his laughter
And his stern lectures too!
But most of all we really miss
Hearing him say, I love you.
In the end he fought a good battle
Then gave up his fight
To begin his spirit journey
What a splendid sight.
Its been a year since youve been gone
In our hearts your memory will stay
I just want you to know Daddy that
Nothing could ever take your remembrance away.
Dearly missed by Alison Aguonie and Robert Manitowabi.

ZACK-MANITOWABI--Jane Zack-Manitowabi, Feb 7, 1898 - Jan 31, 1989.
A Grandmother's Love
There are those that remember
Your kindness and unconditional love
Your drive and ambition
To succeed on your own
Despite the racism and poverty
There are those that remember
Your voice and your smile
That reassured there was always tomorrow
There are those that remember your faith
Your believe and willingness to defend
There are those that remember what
You said, "Despite all your misgivings...
Remember to forgive yourself.
Save some room in your heart for you
And never forget to appreciate,
Your life and the life you give."
I know you did not walk away;
Your beside us, everyday
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved and missed Nokomis.-Gina Gasongi Simon-Mishibinijima

MANITOWABI--In loving memory of a dear mother and grandmother, Stella, who passed away October 26, 2000.
We seem to see in the soft dim light
A face we love the best;
Recalling her as the sun's last rays
Go down in the far off west.
We miss her more as time goes on,
We can never close our hearts;
And the lamp of our love still burns.
Her heart the truest in all the world,
Her love the best to recall;
None on earth could take her place,
She is still the dearest of all.
--Sadly missed and always remembered by Veda, Darren and Erika.

MANITOWABIIn memory of our dad and grandpa, Vincent, who passed away February 24, 1996.
There is a bridge of memories
From here to heaven above
That keeps you very close to us
Its called a bridge of love
As time goes on without you and days turn into years
They hold a million memories
And a thousand silent tears.
To us you were very special
What more is there to say,
Except to wish with all our hearts
That you were here today.
