The source has not always been verified and therefore, subject to error. Wedding Notices from the Manitoulin Expositor may be found on the Manitoulin Message board and these are linked. There are not many current wedding announcements in current years as the trend has been to post the announcement in the form of an invitation prior to the wedding. I don't feel comfortable about printing a wedding invitation because, although not common, the wedding may have been postponed or cancelled, making the information incorrect.

BRANDOW--MAY, at the residence of the brides' sister, Mrs. Capt. Burns, on the morning of the 5th of November, 1879 by the Reverend R. Hill, Lorenzo Brandow to Miria M. May, youngest daughter of Philip May, Esq., all of Little Current. The bride was given away by her brother Chas. May, and was beautifully dressed in snuff brown, while the bridesmaid, her sister Matilda May was suitably dressed in white. After the ceremony had been performed the happy pair were followed by guests into the dining room, where a sumptuous breakfast awaited them, and also where the wedding presents were laid out. The bride's mother was very much affected at the prospect of parting with her daughter, but all the others enjoyed themselves very much during the night and on into the small hours of the morning.
