Ramsbottom 1871 - 1897 The reason they moved to Hastings Co., Mayo Twp.  From passed down information it is believed that they moved because of a locust (grasshopper) famine.  I was trying to narrow down the window, to the time these and other families moved to Carlow or Mayo Twps.  I have my grandfather Wm Peacock in the Reserve Militia in 1871 in Lanark and have him getting married in Mayo Twp in March of 1897.  So if I could find out the year of the famine (if there was one) then would know about when they moved to Mayo Twp. Rodgers 1840+ Can anyone link Jesse Rodgers and Charlotte England who are found in the
1851 and 1861 census of Bathurst Township to David Rogers, husband of Mary Kirkham who is listed in the 1881 census.  The latter couple is buried in
Brooke Methodist Cemetery
(Birth years)
From the census I believe I can confirm that Jesse (1807) and Charlotte (1806) were from England, and had sons David (1838), William (1849), John (1841) and daughters Eliza (1836), Sarah Anne (1844) and Hannah (1847)
I have found marriage records that link a William, Eliza, Sarah Anne, Hannah
and John to Jesse and Charlotte. If anyone can provide information that
links David to these as sibling or to the parents, I am than able to link this family to a small town in England and back to the year 1743.
Also if anyone knows of other England family in the area from 1840-1890?
Any information on Charlotte and Jesse would also be appreciated.
