Pack/Peck 1836-9 born about 1836-39 in Ontario, I think she was the daughter of James and Sarah Pack/Peck from Goulbourne township   I think she was married to James Downey (also known as McEldowney) (There are some errors on the marriage certificate.)                                      James and Ann had 6 children but all died before they were 30 with no children of their own.                          Ann died in 1893 and she is buried in St. Fillian's cemetery with James Downey and 2 children. I have not been able to find a death certificate.                           I am looking for an obit or any information to help connect the disconnected facts. Janet MacDonald

Peacock 1871 - 1897 The reason they moved to Hastings Co., Mayo Twp.  From passed down information it is believed that they moved because of a locust (grasshopper) famine.  I was trying to narrow down the window, to the time these and other families moved to Carlow or Mayo Twps.  I have my grandfather Wm. Peacock in the Reserve Militia in 1871 in Lanark and have him getting married in Mayo Twp in March of 1897.  So if I could find out the year of the famine (if there was one) then would know about when they moved to Mayo Twp. Pike Falls Poem 1900+

My mother remembers a portion of a poem about Pike Falls (Port Elmsley) which mentions a party, a fiddle, and names of a number of local people. By any chance are you familiar with this and could you direct me to a place to find a copy? Thanks for any advice you can give.
