Gould | 1820+ | My name is Robert (Bob) Gould and I have some information on the Gould Family that lived in Drummond township from about 1840 to I think1852 or 53. They were my ancestors that came out from Ireland John and Jane Gould. It looks like they lived on Concession 9 lot 4. They emigrated from Ireland in Cavan County and brought two children with them. William b 1836 and Robert 1838. Another son Arthur was born in Montreal on June 8 1840, so that must have been the year they landed in Canada and GGGrandmother Jane (Cooke) Gould would have been pregnant on the Boat coming over. They had two other boys that were born in Drummond Township, John 1843, and James 1849, two other girls were born after they moved into the Ottawa Valley in Renfrew County, Ross Township. Mary Ann b 1852 in Ross Township, and Mary Jane b 1858. I have had another contact with an individual that lives in Picton Ontario, that has traced his wife's Gould family to a Brother of John and his name was Richard. he also lived in Lanark County as well. ON the 1841 census is shows two Gould families from Ireland that live in Drummond a concession apart. The other was a James Gould that looks like they came out in 1820. I wonder if that is not a coincidence. it looks to close. | Bob Gould | . |

I am researching the GOULD, HAYES, SIMPSON
and WILSON families in Smith Falls, Beckwith Twp and
surrounds.
I have JASON GOULD, born 1801 in Roxbury, N.Y.
married NANCY SIMPSON, in 1834 in Smith Falls. Nancy
appears to have been born 1810 around Smith Falls. Also an
ELIZABETH SIMPSON, born 1788 is noted on a memorial stone in North
Elmseley Twp, so is related somehow!
Their son JAMES HENRY GOULD, b.1840 Smith
Falls, married CATHERINE HAYES in 1867. Catherine born 1839 in
Smith Falls.
Their son JOHN JAY GOULD, born 1876 in Smith
Falls, reportedly married (?) ELIZABETH O'NEILL and had a son VANDA
JAY GOULD. I can find no record of a marriage or entry for
birth of Vanda Jay (he did exist though!!)
The name of WILSON is
also within the family but am not sure how it fits in.
Would anyone have ANY information of the above
families. Appreciate it very much.
Marie in Sydney Australia.

Graham | c1820+ | Armour b. 3-12-1798 m. Catherine (Jiles) Giles. Immigrated from Tyrone Co. IRE. Had a family of 9 children. Both are buried at St. Paul's in Lanark. Would like to hear from any descendants. | Mary Ellen Marino | . |
Graham | 1820-1860 | Seeking information on William James Graham
and/or wife Margaret, or any decendents. Came to Lanark County
sometime during period 1818-1822 from Scotland by way of St. Albans, Vermont. Had at least one son, George, born in St. Albans in October 1822. Would assume they had more than one child, but can find no records. William had a homestead near Brockville. His son George married Sarah Sanders in 1847 and they had six children in Smith Falls during period 1847 - 1867. Names of these six were Martha, Mary A., William J(ames?), Andrew R., Thomas, and Eliza M. George and two sons Thomas (aged 11) and Andrew left for America in 1867. Have been unable to find any records on remaining children, or on William James or wife Margaret, both of whom presumably died in Smith Falls in mid-1800's. Also possible George fathered a daughter, Sarah, in 1864 with Anne MORRISON. Thanks very much for any information. |

Served as a dragoon under Hawtrey White in the Ballaghkeen Yeomanry and wounded in 1798 Rebellion. Greig | 1865+ |
Greig: Seeking information on descendents of
James R. Greig (b.c1865) and wife Sarah
H. Grey (b.1870). James Greig was probably born in
Carleton Place but newspaper notice of wedding (1896) says "of
Cardinal, late of Montreal". Couple seems to moved to Iowa
USA shortly after their marriage but there is some evidence James
Greig was in Iowa as early as 1888. James Greig may be the son or
nephew of Carleton Place lawyer Thomas Greig
(1839-1888) or of Carleton Place bookseller James F.
Greig (1831-1876). He may also have been of the same
family as Alex E. Greig (b. c1840) of
Carleton Place or Ramsay Township who became Dean of the University
of Saskatchewan and married Jessie Shaw
(c1870-1965).
