Barrie late 1700 I am trying to find out information about my great grandfather John Ferguson Barrie. It is my understanding that he was born in Lanark Count on 03/05/1830. I do not have any information regarding his parents. The Barrie family may have been in Dalhousie Township in Lanark County. John Ferguson Barrie came to California in 1855 and settled in Maryville, CA. He had a nephew James B. Barrie who was the son of James and Marian (Chalmers) Barrie. The parents came from Scotland to Canada.

I would appreciate any help that you can give me on locating the parents of John Ferguson Barrie. He died in Marysville California on 02/07/1904 at the age of 73.

Bertrim/Bertram 1820 - 1830
William Bertram/Bertrim was born some where in Ireland about 1777. He came to
Canada in 1820 aboard the "Commerce" from Ireland by way of Greenock, Scotland. He settled on the south-west half (100) acres lot 6, con.12 of Lanark Twp, Lanark County Ontario on September 1, 1820. At the same time his son, Henry Bertram settled on lot 6, con. 12 of Lanark County. His other son, John Bertram settled on Lot 7, con 12 of Lanark County on April 25, 1822.
William, Henry, and John sold their land in Lanark about 1830 and moved to
Ernestown Township near Wilton in Lennox and Addington County. William
purchased the north half of lot 39, con. 5. The family appears to have stayed on in
the Kingston area.
At this time we don't know if William and his wife Jane McKay were married in Canada or in Ireland, or possibly Scotland. Also their son James' birth date and birth place differ in various records. Their other sons, William Jr. and Alex were both baptized in the Anglican Church in Perth. These three sons married and had large families, moving to the Parham area during the 1850's and 1860's.
Any information on these families would be appreciate.

Broughen 1848 - 1937
We are looking for any information on our great grandparents, William Moss and Elizabeth Broughen also spelled Brougham/Broughan.  William was born in Sherbrooke S. about 1845 and Elizabeth was born in the Ramsay area about 1848.  They married in 1872/73 and had nine children including our grandmother, Martha.  William died on February 3, 1925 and Elizabeth in 1937.  They resided in Sherbrooke S. for most of their married lives.  We have been unable to locate where either are buried.  The death certificate for William states he was buried in Maberly but in contacting the three cemeteries in Maberly they have no record of his or Elizabeth's burial.  The service for Elizabeth was held at the United Church in Maberly but no record exists as to where she was buried.
Would very much appreciate any information anyone might have on William and Elizabeth Moss.

I would be interested in communicating with anyone interested in the surname of "Burke" in the Pakenham area in the 1800's.
Thomas Burke, son of David and Elizabeth of Pakenham, Ontario married Mary Alice Grace of Ottawa on November 29, 1863 in Ottawa.
In the 1871 census there is a David Burke age 84 years old living in Pakenham who I believe to have been Thomas Burke's father.  Thomas Burke died fairly young before 1871.
Other than that I do not have any information on these family groups.
