Patrick Murphy born 1821 Ireland and lived in Bathurst township, Lanark County around 1850?  and his wife Ellen (Helenor) Hall born 1825 in Sherbrooke township, Lanark County. She is the daughter of Nicholas Hall born 1791 in Ireland, died 1872 Westport and Marie Marcotte born 1801 in Trois Rivieres, Quebec.
 
Nicholas was a military settler, having served with the British Army in the 88th Regiment, Connaught Rangers.
 
Nicholas and Marie Hall had property in Sherbrooke township, Lanark County.

Patrick and Ellen (Hall) Murphy were married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Perth, Ontario on April 4th, 1853.
