Descendants of

Descendants of James Droughan

Submitted by: Sylvia [email protected] 11 June, 2001. "Update - March 26, 2002"

The Droughan’s came from Co. Waterford, Ireland, with their young family of 5 boys in 1851 and settled in Smith’s Falls, Montague Twp., Lanark Co. There they stayed for the remainder of their lives. Their children branched out and had families of their own, and settled in various places such as Quebec, Brockville, Guelph, Hamilton, and the US, though some descendants remained in Smith’s Falls. James used to work as a stonemason back in Ireland, but once he settled in Lanark Co., he made his living as a farmer.
