Descendants of Alexander McCoy  

I'd like to introduce myself, Patricia as the 3rd great granddaughter of Alexander McCoy and Mary Robinson.
I've been researching my McCoy family continously for last year after losing my father Barry. Knowing very little about the family other than my greatfather came from the Lanark County of Ontario and had married Elizabeth Milne, thankfully to the success of the censuses available and obtaining a subscription to find and view BMD of Ontario, I have been able to bring my family research to life. I have 900+ names regarding the McCoy line, their marriages and descendants.
My main focus now Is Alexander "Allan" McCoy and Mary Robinson. Both are from Ireland according to records I've found. Alex born 1791 immigrated some time between until his marriage to Mary in 1833. I have yet to find any ship, border crossings, land, etc records to go further. I would like to know if he came alone or with siblings,  his parents and where he left from. There are many McCoys in Ontario throughout these years I cannot place to my family, I'd like to think Alex came with 1 brother and thus here are the other names. I cannot seem to find where and when his death took place, I'll assume Ontario. As for Mary, all the same applies to Alex. If to look into census records pre 1833 that are available to myself I have found several Robinsons in the area of Bastard, Leeds, unfortunaetly only lists head of households. On the marriage for Mary it states "Maria".
Alex and Mary's children were listed in the 1851 census. I have little success in obtaining and finding more with Robinson McCoy. Known is a wife Hannah or Anna, and through finding 2 marriage documents, he has 2 known children, George and Margaret. Margaret married James Albert Cook. I can find no known death for Robinson or any other children.Thomas I believe immigrated to Pennsylvania, wife Mary and 2 children Sarah and James. Have census records to prove. Nothing more. Elizabeth married John Peters in Lanark, Ont. 4 children found throught the 1881 census, and nothing more.
Another elusive son of Alex and Mary, George W McCoy, has been found in New York State. I have established contact with George's great grandson, Thomas. Together now we work on the family history. Thomas has provided many of these pictures of the unknown McCoys as he found them in an old album belonging to George W. A couple obviously belonging to our Canada McCoys. A few I obtained through long lost family members who I now have contact with and keep up todate with research.

1.  ALEXANDER1 MCCOY was born 1791 in Ireland, and died in Ontario.  He married MARY ROBINSON 13 Aug 1833 in Bastard Township, Leeds County, Ontario.  She was born 1811 in Ireland, and died 03 Jul 1896 in Frontenac, Ontario, Canada.

3.  ARTHUR2 MCCOY (ALEXANDER1) was born 04 Nov 1836 in Toronto, York County, Ontario, and died 30 Apr 1913 in Frontenac, Ontario.  He married CATHERINE FISHER/ TAIT 07 Jul 1864 in Lanark, Ontario, Canada, daughter of NATHAN FISHER and MARY FISHER.  She was born Sep 1849 in Darlington, Ontario, and died 15 Dec 1906 in Frontenac, Ontario.

7.  MARGARET ANN2 MCCOY (ALEXANDER1) was born 1847 in Bastard Township, Leeds County, Ontario, and died 01 Mar 1923 in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada.  She married NATHANIEL CASWELL 21 Jun 1867 in Carleton Place, Lanark, Ontario, Canada, son of ANDREW CASWELL and MARTHA BURROWS.  He was born 12 Jan 1835 in Drummond, Ontario, and died 05 Dec 1932 in Renfrew, Ontario, Canada.
