Resting at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, McArthur Ave, Carleton Place. Service in the chapel on Saturday at 2 pm. Interment Dewar's Cemetery.

Cheney, Herbert Norman – At his home, Merrickville, Ontario, on Thursday, December 10, 1959, Herbert Norman Cheney, beloved husband of Anne Merrifield, in his 85th year. Resting Hulse and Playfair Ltd., 315 McLeod St. Service in chapel on Saturday at 1pm. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
Hickey, Irene Lillian – At Rosamond Memorial Hospital, Almonte, Ontario, on Thursday, December 10, 1959, Irene Lillian Sheehan, beloved wife of Joseph John Hickey, in her 66th year. Resting at the Kerry-Scott Funeral Home, Elgin St., Almonte, thence to St. Mary’s Church for Requiem High Mass on Saturday, December 12, at 10 am. Interment St. Mary’s parish cemetery.

-Mrs. Findlay McIntyre of Lanark died on Sunday, February
11, after an illness of only eight days of pleuro-pneumonia.
Deceased was 76 years of age and leaves three sons.
Her husband died 25 years ago.
Born - McGrath – At Almonte, February 14th, Mrs. Matt.
McGrath jr. of a daughter.
Died - McGrath – At Almonte, February 14th, the infant
daughter of Mr. Matt. McGrath jr.
Died – Cavanagh – At Perth, on Saturday, February 18,
Mrs. Nicolas Cavanagh, aged 90 years.

-Mr. Chas. Simpson, of Almonte, mourns the death at South
Bend, Ind., of his sister, Mrs. Wm. Rose, a resident for many years of Grand
Rapids, Mich. Mrs. Rose, whose
maiden name was Eliza Simpson was born in Almonte 67 years ago.
To mourn her loss she leaves two sons, one brother (above mentioned) and
two sisters.
-Mrs. Samuel McDowell, of Pakenham, died on Wednesday,
February 22 at the age of 71 years. Death
was due to congestion of the lungs. Deceased leaves to mourn her, her husband, three daughters,
Mrs. Malcolm Lamont, Sask., Mrs. Andrew A. Stewart, Ramsay, Mrs. John Kennedy,
Vancouver, and two sons, Messers. John T., of Pakenham, and Wm. S. of Almonte.
Three brothers and one sister also survive.
The funeral too place on Saturday to the Methodist church and thence to
Pakenham cemetery.
- Mr. John McCann of Ramsay died on Thursday, February 16,
after a lengthy illness. Deceased
was only 44 years of age, and leaves besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas.
McCann, a widow, three daughters and one son, also six sisters. The sisters are
Mrs. Robt. McIntosh, Almonte; Mrs. Wm. Wallace, Preston; Mrs. Wm. Lawrie and
Mrs. Wm. Armstrong, Ramsay; Mrs. Robert Crawford, Carleton Place; and Mrs. Wm.
Allison, Winnipeg.
-Mr. John Stewart, another resident of Ramsay, died on
Wednesday, February 22, in his 81st year. Deceased’s wife predeceased him about 3 years ago, and
there are left to mourn five sons and three daughters, namely, William, Kinburn;
Robert, Ramsay; Charles and George, Viscount, Sask.; and Archie, of the Soo;
Miss Katie, at home; Mrs. Geo. Murphy and Mrs. John Arthur, Blakeney.
The funeral took place on Saturday.
-A former resident of Almonte, Mr. Thos. G. Dixon, died at
St. Paul, Kansas. He was 60 years of age and is survived by two daughters and
three sons, also three sisters and one brother.

Stevenson – At Almonte, Feb. 19, Mr. Norman Stevenson, in
his 76th year.
Demer – AT Carleton Place, Feb. 15, Elizabeth Hicks,
beloved wife of Mr. W. H. Demer, aged 57 years and 11 months.
O’Brien – At Duluth, Minn., Mr. Robt. A. O’Brien,
former resident of Almonte, aged 60 years.

Flunder – At Almonte, Feb. 16, Mrs. E. W. Flunder, of a
