Funeral of James D. Beck
Almonte, March 20 – (special) – The funeral of James
Desmond Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Beck, of Three – Rivers, Que., and
formerly of Almonte, was held yesterday following the arrival of the Ottawa
train to the vault at the Auld Kirk cemetery.
Rev. J. J. Lowe, of St. Paul’s Anglican church, conducted the service.
The deceased, who was in his seventh year, took suddenly ill on Sunday
last at his home in Three Rivers. He
was removed to the hospital where an operation was performed but died Wednesday
evening. The chief mourners were his parents, one sister, Margaret,
and one brother, Clint. There was a
large number of floral offerings and many messages of sympathy were received by
the bereaved family.
Charles Willoughby
Mrs. R. W. Haydon, mother of Captain J. A. P. Haydon,
well-known Ottawa newspaper man, received news on Sunday of the death at Regina,
Sask., on Friday of her brother, Charles Willoughby, president of the Beaver
Lumber Company, an organization known all over the West.
Mr. Willoughby was born in Carleton Place, Ont., and was very well known
in this section of the country. He
went west many years ago, and was one of the pioneers of Regina.
He also took a prominent part in curling.
In addition to Mrs. Haydon, a brother George Willoughby, of Ottawa, also
survives.

Ont., Tuesday, December 6, 1966, Charles Elgin Hobbs, son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Nelson Hobbs; dear brother of Harold, in his 61st year.

at Munster Union Cemetery.
Fisher, William Albert – In his 92nd
year, son of the late William Fisher and Sarah Leach, beloved husband of the
late Maria L. Porter, entered into rest at home December 6, 1966; dear father of
Mrs. Ernest Lewis (Ellen), Sydenham, John, Ashton, Howard and Mrs. R. Edward
Daly (Marion), Richmond, Harold, Manotick, Herbert and Ernest, Smiths Falls.
Predeceased by 1 son William Duncan and 1 daughter Mrs. Cecil McBryde
(Iva); also left to mourn are several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and
great grandchildren. Resting at the home of his son Ernest, Second Concession of
South Elmsley, south of Smiths Falls, one-quarter mile off Brockville Highway.
Funeral service at 2 o’clock on Friday, December 9, in St. John’s
Anglican Church, Smiths Falls. Interment
Munster Union Cemetery.

Ont., on Friday, July 4, Harvey George Ruttle, of R.R. 1 Carleton Place, in his
59th year, beloved husband of Edna Code, dear father of Kenneth, R.R.

year, daughter of the late William John Campbell and Agnes Cromleish, dear
sister of Eileen (Mrs. Harold Fisher), Marion (Mrs. Earl Crawford), Harvey A.
Campbell, predeceased by William; also survived by several nephews and nieces.

Scott, Carleton Place; in his 95th year.

Michael’s Church, Corkery, for funeral mass on Tuesday at 2pm.

Foy, John Vincent (Flt. Lt. RCAF) – In hospital,
Ottawa, Ont., on Saturday, July 5,1975, John Vincent Foy, dear son of the late
Daniel Foy and the late Mary McFarlane; dear brother of Mary, Bridget, Maude,
Loretta (Mrs. W. E. Scott), Almonte, Edith (Mrs. James O’Neill), Kinburn;
predeceased by a brother, James, in his 61st year. Resting at the Kerry Funeral Home, 154 Elgin St., Almonte,
thence to St. Mary’s Church for funeral mass on Tuesday at 10 am.
Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Rowsome, Jean Canning – At Ottawa on Saturday, July 5, 1975, Jean Canning Burke, beloved wife of William L. Rowsome of Smiths Falls, and dear mother of JoAnn (Mrs. Reuben Durnford) of Ottawa, and Jacqueline, Brockville and sister Mabel and Nettie Burke, of Perth.
