The bridegroom of the following notice is a son of Major Thomas Scott, once of this town and nephew of Mrs. Hugh Robertson of this town and William Allan of the Scotch Line:  “The residence of Dr. George P. Murray, Smith Street, was the scene of a very pretty wedding this morning the contracting parties being Fred W. Scott, the well known head of the Scott Furniture Company and Emma Maud Murray, second daughter of Dr. Murray.  Punctually at 11:00 the happy solemn service began under the direction of Rev. Mr. Rumball of Morden(?) who is an old friend of the family and the vows of the young people were registered and the knot securely tied.  There were only near relatives of the two interested families present.  The wish was to have the affair of the quietest possible nature.  But it was none the less pretty the bride and her young lady relatives looking exceptionally charming.  The company sat down to a dainty wedding breakfast and after this was over they drove to the N.P. Station and took the train for St. Paul on their honeymoon trip.  They will also visit Chicago and other cities in the U.S. and expect to be away about three weeks.  A large number of friends were at the station to wish them bon voyage.  Both bride and groom are very popular in the city and this was shown very strikingly by the large number of beautiful presents received notwithstanding the fact that the wedding was kept as private as possible.  Mr. and Mrs. Scott will take up their residence on Colony Street on their return”.   Evening Tribune, Dec. 28  (Transcriber’s note, no where does it really say what city or town the wedding took place in.)
