Last Friday evening Jas. Baillies and Mary Anderson were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. D. McDonald, the ceremony being performed at the residence of Mrs.(?) John Gillies.  The event was not without its tinge of romance.  It will be remembered that Mr. Baillies made a trip home to Scotland last summer after a sojourn of 24 years in this country and while there renewed an old friendship which existed before his first leaving the “old sod”.  The sequel to the visit comes out now when Miss Anderson, with the courage of character of her countrymen, made the trip from Glasgow to Carleton Place to meet her liege lord and on the evening of her arrival friends of childhood joined hands together for weal or woe.  We extend our congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Baillies and hope their future will be an unchanged horizon of bliss.  Carleton Place Herald
