Gordon Harold Drynan

Gordon Harold Drynan died in the Almonte General Hospital May 13. He was 80. Mr. Drynan was a son of the late J.R. Drynan and his wife Ellen Cochrane. Born in Sinclair, Manitoba, he moved back to Clayton at a very young age where he grew up and attended Clayton school. On June 30, 1937, he mar­ried Isabel Gertrude Stan­ley. He is also survived by children Elizabeth (James) Gleeson, Marian (Keith) Thompson, Keith (Joy), Leonard (Edith), Brian (Janet), Robert (Gypsy), Dorothy (Maurice) Killeen, Carl, Linda (Tom) Lee, and Shirley (Denny) Neron. He had 29 grandchildren and 32 grandchildren.  Mr. Drynan was predeceased by his brother Orville. The funeral was held at the Kerry Funeral Home Chapel in Almonte Thursday, May 16 with Rev. Ted Colwell officiating. Interment was at the United Cemetery in Clayton. Many beautiful floral tributes and donations to the Almonte Hospital and the Canadian Cancer Society were greatly appreciate by the family. The pallbearers were six grandsons: Wayne Thompson, Christopher Gleeson, John Drynan, Dwayne Killeen and Randy Drynan. The flower bearers were also six grandchildren: Derrick Killeen, David Thompson, Gordon, Michael, Robbie and Carl Drynan.

MUNRO - Suddenly in hospital, Almonte, Ontario on Monday, March 4th, 1996. Arthur Munro (of Clayton). In His 84th Year. Dear son of the late Robert D. Munro and the late Margaret Yuill.  Dear brother of Margaret (Mrs. George Affleck), Clayton. WADDELL, Sara Ansley – In hospital at Almonte on Thursday, June 27, 1996. Sara Ansley McKee of Almonte, born County Down, Ireland. Age 87 years. Dearly loved wife of John J. Waddell. Beloved mother of Jamie of Brantford. Predeceased by her son Tim. Loved grandma of Kory of Gillies Landing. Predeceased by her grandson Tyler, Also survived by one sister Martha of Belfast, Ireland. MUNRO, Margaret Edna (Maggie) - Peacefully in Fairview Manor, Almonte on Saturday, March 30,1996. Margaret E. Foster of Almonte. In Her 90th Year. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert G. Munro. Dearly loved mother of Beatrice (Mrs. Art Desarmia), Mervyn, Bert, Helen (Mrs. Glen James), Jack, Jean (Mrs. Murray Smith) and Doug all of Almonte, Vera (Mrs. Bill Church) of Fredericton, N.B., and Gary of Winchester. Also survived by 1 sister Rebecca, 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Predeceased by 3 daughters Mrs. Flossie Houston, Mrs. Muriel Stuart and Mrs. Shirley Drynan and 2 sons Alex and James, also by 4 brothers Ernest, Roy, Irvine and Thomas and 2 sisters Flossie and Jessie. PIERCE, Annie Isabella - Peacefully in hospital with her family at her side on Thursday June 27,. 1996. Annie I. MacDougall of Almonte. Age 88 Years. Wife of the late Thomas Pierce. Dearly loved mother of Lyle of Pakenham, Clifford of Almonte, Mrs. Elva Stewart of Ottawa, Glenn and Mrs. Gail Arthur, both of Carleton Place. Predeceased by her son Donald. Dear sister of Clifford, Willard, Mabel, Myrtle, Muriel, Helen, Doreen and Audrey. Predeceased by 2 sisters, Blanche and Lena. Elsie Victoria Carnahan, wife of the late William Oswald Bingham (1954), mother of Helen Davis (Robert) of Peterborough and Doris Currie of Sudbury, predeceased by son Keith (1988) and son-in-law Stuart Currie (1996), survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Vera Carnahan of Drumheller, Alberta, dear friend of Sadie Anderson. BELL – In hospital at Almonte, Ontario on Thursday, October 10th, 1996. John Mackintosh Bell. Age 82 Years. Beloved husband of Halcyone Powis. Son of the late James and Vera Mackintosh Bell. Survived by his daughter Patricia Leeck and grandchildren, John, Deborah (Mike), Wendy, Kevin and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends were invited to join the family for a Funeral Service held in the Chapel of the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place on Saturday. Rev. Mervyn Dunn officiated.
