John Orval (Orville) DRYNAN - Life-long area resident John Orval Drynan died at the Ottawa Civic Hospital Nov. 20 (1994) following a lengthy illness. He was 68. Mr. Drynan, who lived in Carleton Place, was born in Ramsay Township to mother Ellen Jane Cochrane and father John Robert Drynan on Sept. 22, 1927. He was educated in Clayton. He married Shirley Munro Dec. 31, 1953 in Middleville and lived in this area for 20 years. He owned Valley Taxi, retiring two years ago. Mr. Drynan is survived by son Donald Drynan of Almonte and daughters Deborah Coady and Dianna Drynan of Almonte, Darlene Cole of Carleton Place, Dona Drynan of Kars and Wanda Obst of Arnprior. The funeral service was held at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home in Carleton Place on Nov. 23, with Rev. John Bushby presiding. Interment at Clayton United Cemetery. Robert Drynan, Jim Rath, Craig Robertson, Bill Jinkinson, Keith Jinkinson and Donnie Lee were pallbearers.

SMITHSON - Suddenly in hospital, Almonte, Ontario on Tuesday January 3rd, 1995. Desmond Emmerson Smithson. Beloved husband and best friend of Nancy Needham. Dear father of Elaine Steele, Vancouver, B.C.; Diane (Mrs .James Campbell), Bale d'Urfe, Quebec; Lynda (Mrs. James Christie), Kanata and James Smithson, Carleton Place. Dear brother of Jack (Rachel) Smithson, Almonte and Cameron (Patricia) Smithson, Langley, B.C. Predeceased by one brother Willard Smithson. RINTOUL – John Alexander – in hospital at Almonte on Sunday May 29, 1994. Alex Rintoul of Almonte. Age 82 years. Son of the late William George Rintoul and his wife the late Janet Gunn. Dear brother of George of White Lake; Mary (Mrs. Stewart Manarey) of Almonte and Isobel Whyte of Carleton Place. Special friend of Margaret Barr. Predeceased by his sisters, Mrs. Tena Hollinger, Laura and Jane Rintoul and Mrs. Margaret McGee and by 2 brothers, Arnold and Daniel. Survived by several nieces and nephews. RALPH, Heather Lee - Peacefully with her husband, Paul at her side on Wednesday May 18, 1994. Heather Lee Forsythe of Manotick and Cedar Hill. Age 48 Years. Precious daughter of Lola Forsythe (Burgess) and the late Jack Forsythe. Dearly loved and loving mother of Devon and Lindsay. Beloved sister of Fred (Sandra) of Pakenham. O'KEEFE - Suddenly in hospital, Almonte, Ontario on Friday January 27th, 1995. Gerry Ignatius O'Keefe. In His 62nd Year. Beloved husband of the late Ellen Doreen Burchill. Beloved son of the late John Barr and his wife the late Jennie Watt. Dear brother of Archie of Clayton and Mrs. Jennie Borrowman of Middleville. Beloved wife of the late James Fergusson. Dearly loved mother of Norah (Mrs. Howard Wark) of Union Hall; Kathy White of Middleville; Susan (Mrs. Ed. MUNRO, Jessie May - Peacefully in hospital at Almonte on Sunday, February 12, 1995. Jessie Foster of Almonte. Age 86 Years. Beloved wife of the late John H. Munro. Dear father Gerald (Agnes) of Greenfield Nova Scotia and Janet (Mrs. Brian Drynan) of Almonte. Predeceased by an infant daughter Jacqueline. Loved grandfather of Brian Hurdis, Donna Hall (Brent), Randy Drynan (Brenda), Brenda Drynan (Rick), Jean Leblanc, Charlotte Lightfoot and 4 great-grandchildren.
