Death of Gemmill Penman - 31 October 1905.

While yet a young man, just entering upon the period of life's stern realities, Archie Gemmill Penman was summoned away from earth on Tuesday, Oct. 31st.  Only 29 years of age, he had until a short time before his death the promise of a long and useful life.  But the future is sealed to us all.  Gemmill attended to his work on the farm until well on in the summer.  He put in the crop himself and had all the season's work well advanced when an attack of some strange malady perturbed him.  He took the precautionary measure of going to a sanatorium least the trouble should prove serious.  The menace to his health deepened and darkened and he came home again.  No relief could be found, although skill of the highest order was employed to treat his case.  At last death came and friends were left to weep that had once looked upon him as their star and hope of the future.  Deceased was youngest son of Mrs. A. N. Penman, of Dalhousie.  He married Agnes Hood, of Clifford, Ont. three years ago.  One boy 2 years old was born to them.  Mrs. Jas. McDougall
and Mrs. John L. James are sisters.  The funeral took place on Thursday, Nov. 2nd, at one o'clock p.m. to Watson's Corners cemetery.
