March 21,p.?: James Hewitt - Another of the pioneer business men of this district has passed over to the great majority. On Tuesday last Mr. James Hewitt died in Toronto after a lingering illness, at the age of 65. Deceased began business on his own account when quite young and for many years owned and successfully managed a brickyard at Springbrook, just west of town. He was a man of sterling character and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends and acquaintances throughout this district. He was a brother of Mrs. R. Ferns, Orangeville, brother-in-law Robt. Hewitt, of Toronto. The funeral takes place this morning to Greenwood Cemetery.

(Wansborough) Lang -We regret to announce the death of an old resident
of the township, Mrs. James Lang, relict of the late James Lang, on Tuesday
March 5, in her 86th year.
The deceased who was a daughter of the late Mr. Wansborough, was born in Ireland
on April 18th, 1926, and came to this country with her parents in 1831, the
family settling in the township of Erin, on Lot 24, Town Line, which is now
owned by Mr. G. Davis. On March 12th, she was married to Mr. Jas. Lang, who
predeceased her nine years ago. She leaves a family of seven children, and also
five brothers and one sister. The sons are: John, of Amaranth, George, of Rainy
River; James, Sunridge and the daughters are Mrs. R. Houston and Mrs. Lewis
Lemon, Alton; Mrs. R. Harkness, of Hillsburg and Mrs. Wm. Wheeler, Binkham,.
The brothers of the deceased are : Rev. Richard Wansborough, Danville, Ill.;
William, Toronto; Edward and George, Texas; and Robert of Orangeville, and one
sister Mrs. W. Dixon, Toronto.
