February 26,p.?:James Pierson - Mr. James Pierson, a lifelong resident of Mono, died at his home, lot 12, conc. 3, east, on Saturday, Feb. 7th. Deceased, who was in his 66th years, was a widower. He had been a sufferer from anemia for the last three years. He was treated by different physicians, but medical aid and the gentle ministrations of those about him were alike powerless to stay the ravages of the insidious disease. He is survived by a family of three sons and three daughters -- Robert, Joseph and John Pierson, Mrs. Robert May, Elora, Mrs. Irad Allen and Miss Jennie at home. Joseph Pierson, Mono , is a brother and there are three sisters surviving -- Mrs. Isaac Bagnell and Mrs. John Patterson, Froude, Sask., and Mrs. Robt. Wilson in Wisconsin. Mr. Pierson, was a man who possessed many excellent qualities, and his memory will be warmly cherished by the community in which he lived. The funeral, which was conducted under the auspices of the Orange Order, of which the late Mr. Pierson was an active member, was attended by a large number of neighbors and friends. The burial took place on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 10th, in Mitchell's Church burying ground. Rev. A.J. Fowlie conducted the services at the house and the grave. The pallbearers were John Pierson, of Kincardine, James Pierson, of Toronto, two cousins, David Still, Alex. Still, Thos. White and Jos. Jeffers.
November 12,p.3:Mrs. Ann Jane (Hunter) Reid - The death of Mrs. Ann Jane Reid, widow of the late Thomas Reid of Caledon and formerly of Mono, occurred at her home on lot 31, 5th line, west, in the former township, on Tuesday. Deceased who was 76 years and 7 months of age, was a sister of the late W.H Hunter, The Maples, and of Dr. A.J. Hunter, of West Toronto, formerly of this town. William Reid, in the West and David Reid, of Fergus are sons. The surviving daughters are Mrs. John Black, East Garafraxa, Mrs. Louis McFaul, Mrs. Henry Ableson, Mrs. M. Gooderham, and Miss Maggie Reid, of Caledon. The funeral will take place from her late residence to Harshaw's burying ground on the Prince of Wales Road at 2 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon.
