HEWITT

October 27,p.2:Thomas Hewitt - Mr. Thomas Hewitt, formerly a well-known resident of Amaranth and afterwards of Orangeville, passed away at his home near Streetsville on Sunday. Deceased, who was 82 years of age, had been enjoying excellent health until about four months ago. He is survived by a widow, one son, Mr. Russel Hewitt, and three daughters, Miss Annie Hewitt, Big Rapids, Mich.; Mrs. H.W. McCulloch, Souris, Man., and Mrs. D.E. Fraser, Winnipeg. The late Mr. Hewitt farmed in Amaranth for many years, afterwards removing to Orangeville where he resided for seven years. He moved from here to Streetsville in 1895. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served on the Managing Board of St. Andrew's Church for several years. The remains were brought to Orangeville for burial, the funeral taking place form the C.P.R. depot to Greenwood Cemetery yesterday morning. A number of oldtime friends and acquaintances were at the station to meet the body. The service at the grave was conducted by the Rev. W.M. Morris.
