November 17, 2006 FANNING, TODD Looking for information on the siblings of Jane Todd, daughter of John and Ann Todd who married James Fanning, blacksmith in Kincardine on Dec. 31, 1871. I am trying to determine if she is the sister of Margaret (Todd) Belrose, and Mary Jane (Todd) Callender. Their parents were John Todd and Ann (Kennedy) Todd of Owen Sound. I have been unable to find John and Ann Todd in any census other than in 1871 in Owen Sound. Would anyone have Jane Fanning's death date so I can check her death records to see who her parents are? September 22, 2006 COOEY, Florence Clementine - I would like to find out more of my grandmother's family (she is the youngest of numerous siblings) born November 16, 1888, near Wiarton, Ontario and died in August 1982. He died in either 1891 or 92 in Cargill or Walkerton of a lightening strike. He was married to Margaret Jane Bell, daughter of John Bell and Agnes McBride. Both David and Margaret Jane were born in Toronto, Peel Co., but moved to Bruce County. Their children included, Elgin, Gordon, Agnes, and my great-grandfather, John Alexander Bell. My ancestor George PEDDIE son of David & Margaret Peddie. George died in Michigan in 1912. He was a farmer, born in Scotland … moved to Ontario [Perth - Bruce Co. Ontario]. August 13, 2006 McDonald / Munn In my research of the Mary Munn-James Alexander McDonald family of Little Sands, Prince Edward Island, I have lost a "Neil McDonald". Neil McDonald married Hester (or Esther) McEachern and moved to Southampton, Ontario. I know that they had at least 3 children. These being Mary McDonald ( born August 14, 1879), Duncan McDonald (born January 19, 1882) and Malcolm McDonald (born February 8, 1885). I know that Neil was a fisherman and that Esther died of consumption on June 27, 1893. The son, Duncan, was a cabinetmaker and he married Annie Scott on December 1, 1904. [email protected]. August 2, 2006 THOMPSON / McKINNON Looking for information on Charles A. Thompson, Catherine Mckinnon his wife, and children David, George, Charles, John and Maryann. They lived in Arran Township. Charles Jr. (born in Africa), brother George born in Spain, David, John, and Maryann born in Ontario. Father, English, and perhaps a British captain, mother Scottish perhaps from Edinburgh, Scotland. Charles Senior married Mary Mckeen upon the death of his first wife. April 30, 2006 McLAUGHLIN Any information very much appreciated on: Alexander McLaughlin bc.1832 may have married Martha Lucretia Morden. May have left Bruce in 1869. Also William McLaughlin bc. 1832 known as ‘Willie of the Hill’ - I think it refers to Gillies Hill. Or any McLaughlins in the 1800s who settled in Elderslie – As of 1867: William at Gillies Lot 15, Conc 10; George L11-C10; James L12-C10; Robert L14-C10; John L16-C10 and another William L16-C11. I am searching for any information on Frederick who came over from England with Barnardos on 28 March 1893 on S S Labrador aged 12 (Bn 25 August 1881 in Walthamstow, London). His mother's name was Charlotte WHITE later CRUMP and his father's name was George J CRUMP. We believe that he went to Tara, Arran to live for about 45 years and that he is buried in the cemetery there. Husband's grandfather was Henry Thomas CRUMP and Frederick's brother. Two known sons are Thomas Ais Osborne, born May 31 1855/56, and Jarvis Osborne born July 1861/63. Thomas Ais Osborne married Eliza Jane Wilson of Greenock, in Pinkerton in 1877. Jarvis Osborne married Mary McKenzie / Mckinny. Both families eventually moved to South Himsworth region in late 1880s or early 1890s. Especially looking for info on Charles Osborne and his wife Mary Vance, including final resting place and any additional children (two more brothers suspected). Her brothers also immigrated to North Dakota, and changed name to Tuskie. Mary Ann's parents are Joseph SCHEFKOWSKI (b. 1835) and Margaret KRUPP (b. 1848), both born in Hanover Germany. Archibald and Jessie (Nicolson) MacLeod are Angus's parents and are buried in S. Kinloss Presbyterian Cemetery. I am not positive about the spelling of SCHEFKOWSKI. This is the spelling found on a tombstone in Westhope, North Dakota. One of her brothers was Simon Tuskie, who is buried in Westhope. Many thanks! McConachy/ Ewart/ Taylor Three of the McConachy children came from Scotland in 1857: Malcolm, Catherine and Agness. Malcolm married Agnes Whittaker in York County in 1868 to 1870, they moved to Bruce County shortly there after. Malcolm joined two of his sisters and their families in Elderslie Twp. Catherine McConachy married Thomas Ewart about 1860 . Thomas and Catherine had 5 children. Both lived all their lives in Elderslie Twp. Agness married Neil Taylor about 1859, they too remained in Elderslie Twp. Agness and Neil had 9 children. From a listing on the Bruce County Rootsweb.com page, I see that one of their children, Charles CHISHOLM, married Ann Hoffman on 7 Feb 1875 in Teeswater. Charles' age was 22 and listed as a farmer from Esquising, Culross and son of Archibald CHISHOLM & Elizabeth Snyder. Can anyone help me with any information on Archibald CHISHOLM in Bruce County? February 6, 2006 RANKIN I am searching for a family from Port Elgin / Walkerton - Miss Ida RANKIN, daughter of Thomas RANKIN of Port Elgin and Walkerton; Mr. RANKIN and his wife Sarah are both buried in Walkerton. Miss Ida is not with them. The RANKINs had homes in Port Elgin and Walkerton in the 20s-30s-40s. Thomas died in 1938, Sarah died in 1936. Miss Ida RANKIN was still in Walkerton in 1944. January 7, 2006 GRAHAM, Eliza, James and Edwin. My boyfriend's family owns an old farm house in the Lindsay area, and in the back of it there is a gravestone of a 18 year old boy named Edwin J. Graham. On the gravestone it is also indicated that his parents were Eliza and James Graham. What I have heard is that this boy Edwin was accidentally shot by his father while hunting in 1895. I believe this is the family that built our old farmhouse. I am very curious to know anything about these Grahams and where and when they came to the Bruce. January 7, 2006 BUIE Is anyone researching the family of Archibald BUIE and his wife Agnes (Ann) SINCLAIR who were believed to be living in Arran Township, Bruce County 1850-1870.
