**Important note** Marriages in the Cherokee Nation before statehood were recorded in Craig County, OK. If you have ancestors who were married prior to 1907 in what was to become Sequoyah County, check the Craig County Marriage books. The local libraries in Sequoyah County should have copies of it. |
