Researching your Cherokee
heritage can be both fun and extremely frustrating at the
same time. If you were lucky enough to have ancestors who
enrolled in the various Cherokee rolls, your job is easy!
Even if your ancestors weren't on any rolls, it can still
be fun and rewarding looking for the clues and hints that
have been left for you if you search long and hard enough
to find them! The links on the rolls below will take you
to a google search for each roll. The National Archives has a very useful tutorial for researching Native American ancestry. You can start HERE and follow the links to learn all about this type of research, what is available, and how to obtain those records. |
