USAF Colonel (Ret.) Jim C., 73. of MWC, passed away May H, Born Mar, 31, 1922 in Sperry, OK to John Walter & Laverne (Keeth) Schooley. Married Madeline Heath Woods Dec 22, 1989 in MWC. He began his distinguished, 32 year military career in the Army Aircorp. In 1943 he received his wings & officer commission. As a Flying Tiger under Claire Chennault with the 14th Air Force in India, Burma & China, he was honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism. Before serving as a fighter pilot in the Korean War, he received his degree at the University of Oklahoma. In retirement, he continued his love & commitment to aviation & aerospace education, becoming the Director of the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission.

He is survived by his wife. Madeline of the home, 2 sons, Greg Schooley & wife, Heather, of Ft. Worth, TX & Robert Woods, Jr. & wife Donna Jo, of Muskogee, 3 daughters; Jimalea Schooley Webb & husband Edward of Layton, UT, Renee Claire Kubiak & husband Dan, of San Diego, CA & Donna Ann Carter & husband Doug of Chickasha, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild & 1 sister, Thelma Lu Morton & husband, Bill, of Sperry, OK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either; Cal Farley's Boy Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX, 79174 or St. Matthew United Methodist Church 300 North Air Depot Blvd. Midwest City, Ok 73110 Services will be 11:00 AM Mon., May 15, St. Matthew United Methodist Church, MWC, burial Arlington Memory Gardens.
